megrfl: Until I reread that quite, yeah, I was getting a bit of late night snacky-feel. Give me 15 minutes away from this thread and I'll do up some scrambled eggs.

I'm making omelets for everyone. Please give your order to the waitress. She'll be around shortly.

Those filled scrambled egg dishes were originally made with 12 or more eggs and were called "omes". But it was found that it was hard to fold such a large object, and it was too much food for most people. So, chefs in France started making smaller versions, which they called "omelets", meaning "little omes".

    Wow, thanks PetersCreek.

I'd like my omelette made with 3 eggs, Colby-Jack cheese, bits of bacon, and finely chopped sauteed mushrooms, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions and jalapeno peppers.

The DaIS* gene has been linked to the ability to follow simple directions. The gene is responsible for the production of the protein Instructionase which allows the brain to follow and/or execute processes in a logical order. An inability to produce Instructionase in affected people results in skipping steps or performing them out of order.

An example of this behavior would be not waiting for a waitress to come around and take your omelet order.

A waitress did turn up but her mind clearly wasn't on omelet.

The DwIM* gene is only hypothetical, and has not yet been observed in humans.

Cutting edge research indicates that the DwIM gene is in fact real but is found exclusively among female humans. It is believed to be colocated with (and may even share functions with) the IyRLM(1) gene. That it has not yet been discovered by male researchers is attributed to the recently discovered and exclusively male WNuW(2) gene. It is strongly suspected that female researches have known about the DwIM gene all along but withheld the information for reasons that are not clear. The existance of the ISh2Ty(3) gene has been hypothesized as the most likely explanation.

The young Jedi in Star Wars was originally going to be named Lute Fiske, but the studio was afraid about what that would do to sales in the Scandinavian market.

OK, I'm sorry, that wasn't an untrue fact, that was a lye.

OK, wait, that was a true fact (well, mostly).

Uh........ umm....... oh..... Prehistoric turtles had little suction cup feet and could climb walls.

    Wow, that was close.

The 'keanu' is so large a unit, however, that the microkeanu (μke) is far more practical for most purposes.

Even though it's spelled "keanu," it's really pronounced "Percy."

Keanu Reeves was not hot in The Matrix and he's not one of the reasons I like watching that movie.
