A front moved through this morning bringing sleet and ice. Temps here have been dropping all day, now at 27F with an overnight low of 24 forecast. Houston being Houston, schools and businesses closed with many staying closed tomorrow. Many freeways/tollways closed in places due to ice. (My office cleared out early today and won't open until noon tomorrow, when the temp should get above freezing.)

Our grand total of 4" of snow here was rapidly melting away today while temps hovered in the sunny mid-40's F . Surveying the gardens I spotted the tiny tips of Daffodils peeking through a dusting of snow.....seems a tad early.

So last night we got hit with what locally passes for a cold snap. Temps down to the mid 30's overnight.
When I came downstairs to make coffee this morning my livingroom was so cold I *really* thought someone had left the sliding glass door to my balcony wide open all night.

Our january thaw is giving rain in abundance and 48°, wind light, rain has stopped now.
We probably got 1.5" of rain today. And it all goes down the drain by itself

About -10 C, we are getting a couple cool days then it will warm up over the weekend. Which is good because the auction company is doing everything in one day Saturday.

By the afternoon it will be above freezing maybe I will get the bbq going before the auction.Should of kept quite they called 30 seconds and told me their guy didn't show up so I will get paid for a fulls day work. Oh to boot the water froze I forgot to plug the heater back in.

Rainy and cool here today, 3/4 inch so far and more to come overnight. A little snow expected on Tues and Friday, back to seasonal temps.

Sunday was about 11 C but I spent most of the day resting, did bring in some wood and split some kindling, walked about 32,000 steps Saturday while at the auction and still a little sore.

There are only two things about the storm today, first mom had to take a journey to get a couple of recall issues on her car today and some of the snow is heavy and it freezes it going to a pain for a couple of days.

Average temps and precip continue on here, thankfully the precip predictions are not in a frozen form. That groundhog will always see his shadow due to the pre dawn media spotlight.
