Thread: Your current weather?

_8 windy and clear and an icy driveway which made taking the garbage out interesting this morning. Waiting for a video press conference to start then bring in some wood and bring darn trash can.

Another high around -9 and clear and bit of a breeze, brought in some wood, might help later get the Christmas tree down and now enjoying some coffee and podcasts.

It's been cloudy and coolish, 30's/50's and dry other than the recent 4" snowfall, it's all gone now. A good time to trim the fruit trees without the sun being in the eyes.

Very strange weather here for the last two days. A unseasonal storm has blown in off the Indian Ocean producing maximum temperatures of only 21 C and about 25 mm of rain. The average rainfall for all of December is only 10 mm.

For those of us who care, I do, the rain has probably ruined Australias' chances of winning the 3rd Ashes Test against England.

We had a front move through about 10PM Saturday night ... wind and rain, no lightning, no dramatic drop in temp. It moved through very quickly.

    And we lost power.

I don't think the two events are linked. The failure was in an underground line and affected about 40 homes. It left us in the dark until nearly 7AM. (My wife said it was the best night's sleep she's had in ages.)

Only a couple of cm of snow. For some reason my body decided to go to sleep early so one of the wood stoves went so I cleaned it out and used the ashes on the driveway for traction and to help melt the snow and ice. Now to restart the fore Iuse some math that i did for fun.

Clear, -25C this morning. Colder days and nights in the forecast. My daily walks are not so enjoyable when it gets this way.

    Hot and sunny.

All that snowflake/snowman Christmas themed stuff looks really silly for us this time of year.

Still feeling fall-ish here on the first full day of winter, upper 50's today and mostly sunny, near freezing tonite but much colder expected by next week. Rain for tomorrow but we need it, we aren't going to get a white Xmas but maybe a white New Years.

A White Christmas is predicted for my area. That's rather unusual for here.

Currently sitting out under the patio with the temperature about 25 C at 0800. Skies are clear blue with little wind and a predicted maximum temperature of 33 C (91 F). A lovely day for Christmas and just the sort of Christmas weather I love - and what I am used to.

EDIT: I am "dogsitting" my sons dog so after taking our & his dog for a - separate - 1 hour walk each I jumped into our pool. Aaah lovely Christmas weather.

I was wondering when you'd report that... You often get snow after we've been in a deep freeze for few days. I guess it takes that long for the air mass to get down there, and then pick up moisture crossing the water. My son just told me it's snowing in Saanich (just north of Victoria) too.

  27. #5847
It is snowing out, suppose to get between 5-10 cm, but I am not going to drone on about it.
Changed the value because I misread something.)

Ccccccold.....got 12 F, wind 10 kts. 22 will be the "high" for the week . Cold enough so that my 4 by 4 wouldn't go into 4 wheel drive. Everything got frozen. 3 hours later, it shifts in. I'm leaving it in 4wd auto . Tough plowing snow without it.

The cold snap is forecasted to last until next Thursday. After the last freezing pipe issue saw a gap around the basement door, fill it in with some spray insulation in a little bit.
