Driving, the donut shop is only 2 minutes away, if that, so a heated car seat wouldn't get a chance to warm up before I'd be there.

As for the donuts, sounds like you went to Dolly Subzero....

Yep....DollyO's donuts...they are the best. I've been running on a sugar high all day long.

Looks like it's going to be another cold one, tonight....it's already down to 33 degrees, and it's only 7PM.

We're getting pelted by bands of rain intermittently, rain so hard that it sounds like hail. We're still over 9 hours away from the Winter Storm Warning going into effect.

BTW, I've never heard of that donut place before, but I tend to prefer the local Casey's General Store.

Dolly-O is also a local chain with only two stores that I know of.

Either we have a lot of rain or a lot of snow on the way. No two forecasts seem to be in agreement at the moment.

Let's see. 3 posters talking about this impending storm.
Locations: Above Paradise, between a candle and a star and NA. Gee, that really helps.

Okay, just don't tell NEOWatcher where we really are!

Actually, it may just be very wet. At one point yesterday, the forecast for us here "above Paradise" was rain mixed with snow, but six miles up the road they were calling for two feet of snow. Then it was rain, then back to snow...I guess we'll have to wait to see what really happens.

Interesting "tid bit". When Krispie creme came to this area, it was assumed that they would immpact DollyO's business...instead, Krispie creme had to shut down after about a few months.

I've heard that we will have both, alternating.

Krispy Kreme is returning to Chico. They've been working on the store for the past couple of weeks. I've heard they'll reopen in January.

    Opps..I almost did.

I'm kidding....ABR and I are located in the foothills of Northern Ca., about an hour and a half's drive north of Sacremento.

That wasn't too specific, was it?

I did not know that...I don't think it's a very good idea, but perhaps this time will be different.

No, R.A.F. and I are basically on the eastern edge of the Central Valley while Humboldt County is over on the coast, west and and a bit north of us.

It sounds like I wouldn't want to go see your weather anyway.

Of course "Up the road" means a higher elevation and colder weather.

Seriously though... Between a lake and some elevation changes we are supposed to get something similar. Within about a 4 county area, they are calling for "up to" an inch to "6 to 12" inches depending on where you live.

    Current weather: blizzard.

With whiteout conditions, I'm not even sure where I am anymore, NEOWatcher.

It's so cold in Phoenix that I'll have to wear a sweater when I bicycle to work.

It's even colder than I'd thought; 28 F at 7:45 a.m. Partly cloudy (mackerel). Calm. Chance of rain later in the day.

High wind warning here for Saturday - gusts to 60 mph. And my wife the petsitter has to do a job at the same place where she was bopped on the head by a falling tree a couple of years ago. She's not happy. (She's taken to wearing my bicycle helmet for such occasions.)
Everything I need to know I learned through Googling.

Yikes...I'd need an spacesuit before I'd venture out into that.

Waiting for a "resolution" before posting this...but my Wife got temporarily "stuck" by the side of the road...was pulled out and made it into Chico, and it only took an hour and a half to get there.

This is the first time in the 10+ years we've lived here, that chains were actually needed...we've survived previous snows without them.
