"Now go over the side" makes me think it has a nautical component but I can't think of anything where a prior woman dies .. I think Jim won this one

Looks like you hd it in your post.

VCR, watching, right now, and title are the main points if the last sentance.

One more hint? this is fun. :-)

    P.S. VCR=video Casset recorder

I know what VCR is, I was being sarcastic referring to the fact that you're not watching a DVD

Btw, is the movie "The Maddening"?

Nope, no one has it yet.

Alright, I'll give you one more hint. It stars Sidney Poitier.

Ok, I'm gonna guess the Jackel cause a woman dies in that

If it's not that, I'm gonna guess one of the movies listed here

I don't see how any of the hints about you watching it in your VCR had anything to do with the movie...

It wasn't a hint, just a maddening thought.

Ahh, when you said "There goes the title," I think a lot of us thought you just gave the title away, not that it was physically passing before your eyes.

Okay, now, how am I supposed to come up with a good quote while I'm working? Give me some time . . . I'll come up with something.

    [Edited]
Okay, I've got one. This probably doesn't qualify as "science fiction," but I don't care.

"I didn't know you could fly a plane."
    "Fly, yes. Land, no."

Hmmm, late to the game but I'm guessing Aliens (gotta love the atmosphere processors). And I can't help second guessing myself, The Arrival.

Isn't that from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan?

The little video describing the genesis device IIRC.
