Horray!
I think I may have come closest. Maybe, it's a little death from the skies--I know some get that![]()

Cosmic string whip mentioned?
Collapse to the quantum vacume ground state?
mickal555, you win! That's the last chapter. :-)
Horray for me![]()
Exit Mundi might be an interesting source.
Beat the deadline Phil! I'm actually looking forward to this book. If I didn't read your blog I wouldn't know about it until it was out...stupid well-written and informative blog
<Just my way of thanking you for your work>
I have recently published a book titled "The Virtue of Heresy - Confessions of a Dissident Astronomer". It's about the bad science (mostly) that we are taught to use to try to explain what we see.
Publishing a book, especially in the popular science genre, and even more especially one that calls some of the heroes of cosmology half-blind sissies, is a testing task, one that takes your fortitude and tenacity to the brink of collapse. Some wags suggest it preferable that mine should have collapsed

BA Blog: Major book milestone
Ah...I just sent the draft of my manuscript for Death from the Skies! to my editor.
PHEW!
This is a major step, of course. For one thing, it fulfills my contractual obligation of getting the book to the publishing house by November 12.
Not so fast, author boy.
Hang in there. Congratulations for reaching this stage. But it’s nowhere near the end! Once my editor looks it over and edits it, I’ll have to revise it.

In the mean time, the book's stats have zoomed upward. Amazon product details:So I tease the book last night, and today I decide to check the Amazon rank… and look what I find! [image from Amazon.com]
Wow! I have no clue how many books that translates to as far as preorders go, but a rank of 2300 is pretty nice before the book is even out yet. Thanks everyone!

I got a notification that this thread had been bumped, and I thought I'd do another photoshop of a cover for the book.
Gives me something to do.

I got the book a couple days ago, and it appears we've been downgraded from "denizens" to "minions".![]()
