    Planning a Journey to the Beginning of the Solar System

    Got an email about this one off the JPL maillist a few minutes ago - didn't realize it was underway, but it sounds pretty cool.
    Everything I need to know I learned through Googling.

    I note that this probe will be based on a solar/ion engine. Is this a new trend, or only useful for some applications?
