Is HUb' completely insane, somewhat insane, or is he brilliant?

Is there a fourth choice? Better yet, I'll take the fifth.
Brilliantly insane. On 2003-02-25 10:26, Slappy wrote:

I've got a couple glasses here -- care to share that fifth? On 2003-02-25 10:35, kilopi wrote:

Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn

HUB has been identified as a brilliant stronomer based at another planet, probably extrasolar, trying hard to communicate with us .......... On 2003-02-25 10:26, Slappy wrote:

I've always had this image in my head of a Computer Science grad student laughing with glee as his Hub' program passes the Turing Test with flying colors!
Well, HUb', you got one point, you only need ninety-one more, and you got an A on the project.
HUb' is many things. Cryptic. Using out dated equipment. Observant. An atomic veteran (ARS-7 Chanticleer during atomic testing. Recieved dose of radiation from the blast of a subsurface device). Intelligent. On 2003-02-25 10:26, Slappy wrote:

He has some interesting ideas about moon and earth quakes. It takes a while to decypher his postings in real time. When you do, there is an odd feeling of accomplishment followed quickly by a questioning of your own sanity. Stick with the first feeling, though. It is the most accurate.

PDX, looks like a clone of HUB ??On 2003-02-25 12:20, pdx00782 wrote:

or perhaps from the same planet as HUB .....
PDX and Hub' are the same.
Hub' is trying to start a new name. I guess he and Kilopi got tired of their old ones.
I go with Hub' as interesting.
I have gotten somewhat good a hubbish. It takes some time. Kind of like a rite of passage.
He uses conjunctions and also onomatopoeia (kind of like similar sounds to represent words)
WE have discussed him here:
http://www.badastronomy.com/phpBB/vi...554&forum=6&76
Hub' is hard to understand, I'll say that. But I think he has some brilliant ideas in his posts. Whats odd is just the way he expresses his ideas. The best thing about him is he boosts my reading concentration (a fine necessity).
I ignore his writings.
He doesn't work hard at understanding me, because I do him and others the courtesy of communicating clearly. I know others who seem rather similar; gameplayers all, and not quite as profound as they believe they are.
I don't feel like unscrambling whatever it is he's doing today. I'd rather skip it and go read Phil's messages or JS Princeton's messages or DrDon or... well, anyone else. They're much more interesting because of their coherence, and I enjoy the real and unambiguous insights from them.
Let's not judge dear Hub' too harshly Byrd. If it weren't for our eccentricities we'd all orbit in the same boring old circles. On 2003-02-25 20:11, Byrd wrote:

I'm not sure what you're getting at here. On 2003-02-25 20:11, Byrd wrote:

I thought understanding Hubbish was the true mark of a core member of the BABB and have been diligently trying to decipher his/her posts. Without great success, I admit, but trying is fun. Go Hub.

Review the Bad Astronomer's FAQ Rule#1. Does HUb' have a single post that follows it?
