X-Prize Founder Branching Out!

I found this late last night, and thought that even if this is not directly tied into astronomy it was interesting. This racing league that he is starting might lead to advances in rocket design and reusable rocket powered aircraft technology that might trickle into the space program some day. Has anyone else heard about this?
