She was a 'child star' in the 1930's & 40's. I can recall seeing some of her performances on TV in the 1950's/60's. As the article says she was a bit of an antidote to Shirley Temple. And it is good to see that at least some of the parents of a child star did their best for their child in financial terms. Much mention is made of her long term appearances in a series of Advertisements - which were never broadcast here.
