I think many of us took special pleasure in the clock ticking over to 2021. The year-that-shall-not-be-named made us pay too highly to see it through. Our community lost Paranor001 / Tim, and we watched as several suffered and, thankfully, recovered from COVID-19. We continue to watch as many still struggle with joblessness and general insecurity.
But we made it through to a new year. CosmoQuest made it because so many of you took the time to volunteer and to give. At the beginning of December we challenged you to become Patrons of our programs if you are able. Sixty-two of you stepped forward and, because of you, we brought on Nancy Graziano as a part-time contractor. Also because of you, seven people have part-time work and four podcast / video series have websites and audio hosting (with Weekly Space Hangout joining us this month).
Our goal is simple this year: keep everything going as well as plague-times allow while supporting as many people as we can both through community and employment. When you donate for science, you are supporting the people that enable science, from audio engineers to programmers to scientists, and you are making this community possible.
You are amazing, and together we will get through to the other side of this.
In love and science,
Pamela
