Have a merry Covid Christmas and Happy New Year

I know this is a a bit early for this but some people might not be around closer to the holidays. My plan are really simple find a good book one my shelf and watch a tv marathon, hopefully have some kind holiday meal. All a can afford to give this year is a couple of gift cards and I found a place that sells some interesting jams and pickles. But whatever your plans are enjoy what you got and be safe.

For whatever holidays you may celebrate, let them be happy and safe. Hope you enjoy the contact you have, however indirect, with family and friends.

...Amazon sales will certainly have a merry Christmas this year!

    Have a social distanced Christmas
It's the best time have no fear
    I don't know if there'll be snow
But wear a mask this year
    Have a social distanced Christmas
And when you walk down the street
Say hello to friends you know
    But stay away ten feet
    Oh, ho the mistletoe
    Hung where we all meet
    Somebody waits to spread
    A special viral treat
    Have a social distanced Christmas
And in case you didn't hear
Oh by golly have a social distanced Christmas
    This year
A: "Things that are equal to the same are equal to each other"
B: "The two sides of this triangle are things that are equal to the same"
C: "If A and B are true, Z must be true"
D: "If A and B and C are true, Z must be true"
E: "If A and B and C and D are true, Z must be true"

Therefore, Z: "The two sides of this triangle are equal to each other"

I usually send Xmas cards saying "Happy Holidaze"......this year the emphasis will be on the "daze" part.

BTW, the more recent times of greeting confusion was helped along by these guys a while back...

Nice. But of course it's difficult to properly cover your mouth and nose with a mask when you have a carrot for a nose.

At one of the stores in town, they have two kinds of clothing models in the window— one kind with sculpted faces and another kind that are faceless. They put masks on the ones with faces, but the faceless ones are safe as they have no nose or mouth.

I thought about taking that approach, but it just came off as odd. But, I guess no odder than talking, sneezing snowmen.

I love the Harlan Ellison reference by the way.

Something about the idea of being deemed "safe" because you have no nose or mouth brought it immediately to mind. There's a Covid-based Twilight Zone episode in that.

2020 IS a Twilight Zone episode!

Or more properly, a whole TZ series. It writes itself.

Well, Merry Christmas Eve. To those who celebrate other things, have a happy day!

Enjoy some hot chocolate. Wear your pajamas all day. Contact family and friends. Or however you choose to spend the day.

If you have to work today... you have my sympathies! Been there, done that.

I plan to spend the whole day hunkered down, drinking eggnog, wrapping pressies, and watching old videos of Mystery Science Theater 3000 with the kids and the cats.
As for Covid-19, it can stay out in the cold, or hang out at the shuttered mall or wherever. Merry Christmas all!

It’s 55 degrees and most of our snow from the weekend melted, so it doesn’t feel much like Christmas Eve in that regard. We had a Feast of Three Fishes with lobster, crab cakes, and shrimp and Mom and I are trying out a recipe for coquitos (coconut milk Puerto Rican eggnog).

Well it is Christmas Day here in Western Australia with blue skies and lots of sun. Best wishes to everyone and may you all enjoy today in the way that makes you happiest. We are having a brunch with cold ham, salads, curry puffs, sausage rolls, cold Cherry Strudle etc plus lots of ice cold drinks while looking out on the pool.

Just spent the las 1 and so driving around twice looking at the lights, the first time just with mom while listening to Christmas music including which included an uncle singing a couple of tunes. The second was after we drop off some gifts at my sisters house because it will raining and windy tomorrow.

We did our family's tradition of making homemade pizza on Xmas eve. Did a Zoom dinner with our friends and played online Charades (more fun than it sounds)

    Overall a fun evening.

As the great Kevin McAllister once said...or not...Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals. I just took our traditional Christmas breakfast out of the oven, a savory bread pudding:

Temp in the teens (F), but a light dusting of snow. Just enough that we can say it's technically a white Christmas.
