USGSA magnitude-4.8 earthquake struck the Hāmākua Coast region of Hawai‘i Island at approximately 6:36 a.m., according to a report from the NWS Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Ewa Beach.
USGS now saying 4.9. Looks like it was pretty close to Mauna Kea.

From HVO's Facebook pageKilauea volcano erupted overnight for the first time in more than two years, placing Hawaii's Big Island on a red alert Monday morning.
The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said the situation is "rapidly evolving." It's unclear what, if any, damage has occurred so far.
The eruption began late Sunday within the volcano's Halemaumau crater, at the summit of Kilauea. The HVO said it detected a "glow" within the crater at about 9:30 p.m. local time.
An eruption started at Kīlauea summit on December 20 at approximately 9:30 p.m. HST with multiple fissures opening on the walls of Halemaʻumaʻu crater. The lava cascaded into the summit water lake, boiling off the water and forming a new lava lake at the base of the crater. The northern fissure, pictured, was producing the tallest lava fountain at roughly 50 m (165 ft), and all lava was contained within Halemaʻumaʻu crater in Kīlauea caldera.

Hawaii volcano gushes lava from vents in summit crater. The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said a lake of lava that’s formed in the crater had grown to be 470 feet (143 meters) deep as of late Tuesday. Kilauea volcano began spurting lava Sunday after two years of relative silence. The quiet came after more than three decades of continuous eruption stretching from 1983 to 2018. About 700 homes were destroyed when lava surged through volcanic vents in a residential neighborhood during the last year of that episode.

Kilauea Update: Eruption Increases At Caldera West Vent (Jan. 13, 2021) This U.S. Geological Survey video taken on January 11 shows how the the surface activity has increased at the western vent since our last update. Low fountaining was supplying lava to an open channel that poured into the lava lake.

Kilauea volcano (Hawai'i): moderate earthquake in Kaʻū district.Seismic network of the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) recorded a volcano-tectonic earthquake with magnitude M 4 located beneath the south part of the Island of Hawai'i, in the district of Kaʻū at about 18:15 local time yesterday. The earthquake was located approx. 8 km northeast of Pāhala at depth 34 km (21 miles). Moderate shaking with maximum intensity of V on the Modified Mercalli Intensity Scale, has been reported across parts of the Island of Hawai'i. According to HVO scientist, David Phillips, the earthquake had no impact on the ongoing effusive eruption at Kīlauea's summit. "This earthquake is part of the ongoing seismic swarm under the Pāhala area, which started in August 2019. Unlike most events associated with this swarm, this earthquake was widely felt across the Island of Hawai'i, and as far away as Oʻahu."
